Dr. Ramesh purchased Vision Care Centre in 2007, infusing it with her signature passion, purpose, and people-first approach. Guided by her core values- love, connection, inspiration, and empowerment- she has transformed the clinic into a hub of clinical excellence and team growth.

While she once worked extensively with patients, Dr. Ramesh now focuses her time on mentoring her team, growing the practice, and guiding other clinics across Canada to do the same. She continues to provide specialized care for patients in need of neuro-visual training, a field that deeply changed her own life. After struggling with focus and headaches during school, neuro-visual therapy helped her thrive, and she’s committed to paying that gift forward.

Dr. Ramesh is a sought-after speaker in practice management and neuro-visual training. She travels nationwide to lecture on how to build thriving clinics, empower teams, and inspire leadership grounded in heart and vision. Her teaching blends clinical insight with practical, human-centered business strategies.

She was trained in vision therapy by world-renowned leaders and close friends, Drs. Robert Sanet, Robin Lewis, and Stefan Collier. Her work supports patients recovering from a concussion or struggling with reading and learning challenges.

Dr. Ramesh is the proud recipient of the 2019 Canada Best Eye Care Practice of the Year, 2020 Best in Training.  She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2004 and has served on the board of Vision Therapy Canada. She is also an associate member of COVD, a clinical associate of the Optometric Extension Program, and a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists.

Outside of work, Dr. Ramesh is most inspired by her 2 beautiful daughters and her husband, whose smile keeps her grounded. Whether in her clinic or on a stage, her decisions are guided not only by evidence and experience but always by heart.

Dr. Sebastian is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for holistic eye care, focusing on ocular health conditions, particularly, but not exclusively, dry eye disease. Recognizing that many eye diseases are inflammatory in nature and often rooted in gut health, he emphasizes and guides his patients through a whole-body, customized approach to treatment and dealing with root causes. He firmly believes that addressing intestinal health and diet play a crucial role in not only managing but also improving conditions like dry eye disease and any chronic disease that manifests in the eye, such as autoimmune issues and all forms of insulin resistance.

As a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant and a member of the Canadian Clinicians for Therapeutic Nutrition (CCTN), Dr. Sebastian integrates evidence-based nutritional principles into his patient care. He advocates for the profound impact of nutrient-dense anti-inflammatory foods and the elimination of inflammatory dietary triggers, fully embracing the Hippocratic philosophy: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Dr. Sebastian obtained his Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology from York University before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2007. A proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF), he remains committed to advancing his expertise and providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Since joining Vision Care Centre in 2007, he has been an integral part of a team dedicated to positively transforming lives through exceptional vision care.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Sebastian enjoys cooking nutritious meals, playing beach volleyball, traveling, scuba diving, and spending quality time with his family. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he brings a well-rounded perspective to both his practice and personal life.

Dr. Rae Teixeira graduated from Queens University in 2016 with a degree in Life Sciences and a Certificate in Business, and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry. During her studies, Dr. Rae was fortunate to complete clinical externships across the United States and Canada.

Dr. Teixeira graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2020, receiving the Ocular Instruments Award of Excellence, the ICO Research Award, and the Metro Optics Contact Lens Scholarship.

Upon graduation, Dr. Teixeira moved back to Toronto to join the VCC family. She is excited to help patients reach their full visual potential through means of neuro-visual training and specialty contact lenses. She holds a particular interest in neuro-visual disorders, myopia control, and functional medicine.

Dr. Teixeira enjoys working with patients of all ages to help them achieve a 20/20 lifestyle. When not taking care of her patients, Dr. Teixeira enjoys running, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Kopikaa Easwaran received her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2021, following her Bachelor of Medical Science from Western University. Dr. Easwaran was awarded the Ontario Association of Optometrists Award for Excellence in Patient Management at graduation.

During her internships, Dr. Easwaran received extensive training in diagnosing and treating ocular conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. She is currently an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Easwaran is passionate about patient awareness and education, both locally and internationally. She has participated in humanitarian optometric services abroad to provide eye exams in Spanish Town, Old Harbour, and Montego Bay, Jamaica.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Easwaran enjoys traveling, crafting, and baking!

Dr. Nahal graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2021 with a degree in Life Sciences, majoring in Biology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry, graduating with honours. Her clinical training included rotations in California, Florida, and South Carolina, where she gained a well-rounded foundation in comprehensive eye care.

Originally from Ontario, Dr. Nahal is excited to be back in her home province and proud to be part of the Vision Care Centre team. She is passionate about primary eye care and is committed to providing personalized, high-quality vision care to patients of all ages.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Nahal enjoys staying active, exploring local coffee shops, and spending quality time with family and friends. She also has a love for travel and discovering new places.

Born in India and raised across Africa and England, I was fortunate to meet people from all walks of life at an early age. Through these experiences, I learned the value of hard work, faith, honesty, and resilience, qualities that have shaped everything I do. My father’s words, “Be the best you can be and never forget where you came from,” have been a guiding force in my life.

Navigating school without my parents was challenging, and for years, I struggled with self-doubt. Constantly comparing myself to the top students, I often found myself placed in the lowest groups, and those moments of solitude were filled with tears. However, through faith and inner strength, I defied the odds and earned my Bachelor’s in Science in Optical Dispensing from Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge.

I wholeheartedly believe that everything happens for a reason. My journey took unexpected turns, leading me to step away from my Optometry studies in my second year, and, in doing so, I met my wonderful husband. In 2007, I became part of the Vision Care family, and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The love, knowledge, trust, and gratitude I’ve gained through serving our incredible patients and working alongside a supportive team have been immeasurable.

My work is more than just a career; it’s my home and my passion. As a self-proclaimed workaholic, balancing work and personal life is a continuous learning experience, and under Dr. Ramesh’s guidance, I’m mastering the art of knowing which priorities to focus on.

Outside of my profession, I find joy in traveling and creating treasured moments with my wonderful husband, beloved daughter, and adorable puppy. I feel truly fortunate to spend my life doing what I love, surrounded by the people who mean the most to me.

I had the pleasure of joining the Vision Care Centre Team in May 2017 as a neuro-visual trainer. I have an Honours Bachelor’s of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Studies and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I have also completed the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program as well as the Sanet Vision Seminar Series. My passion is to help make a difference in a person’s life, no matter their age.

I have always been passionate about helping others and learning how the brain works, especially regarding what makes people act or behave in certain ways. I joined the wonderful team at Vision Care Centre soon after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (Honours) and a Diploma in Social Service Work.

I was not familiar with visual therapy prior to starting with VCC; however, I soon learned the importance of this work and the profound impact it has on assisting those with visual challenges, including coordination, focus, and eye tracking. In my free time, I enjoy taking care of myself, including working out, going out with friends on the weekend, and playing recreational sports when I have time!

Hi, I’m Khushboo, born in India, now in Canada, trading monsoons for snow boots but keeping my love for chai and connection. My journey from sales to teaching and health support led me to neuro-vision therapy, where I help children overcome visual challenges affecting learning, movement, and confidence. 

With a background in early education and health, I support families with patience, care, and heart. Beyond work, I love mountains, local eats, and meaningful connections. In short, I’m here to help patients feel truly seen inside and out.

I joined the Vision Care Centre family in January 2020, and it quickly felt like my second home. I’m a licensed optician with over 25 years of experience, and I love helping people see better and look great by blending science with style.

I’m a proud Scarborough girl, and my parents still call it home. I enjoy spending time with my family, close friends, my guy, and our dog. Yoga and meditation are an important part of my life, helping me stay balanced and focused. I’m also an avid lover of food and not afraid to try new dishes, whether locally or while travelling. When it comes to music, I’m all about 80’s hits, old school jams, soca, and reggae.

I’m truly grateful to be part of the amazing team at VCC, where we’re committed to keeping our patients’ eye health in check.

Kris is a dedicated Contact Lens Specialist at Vision Care Centre, known for her warm, patient-centered approach and expertise in teaching contact lens insertion and removal to patients of all ages, from curious kids to seniors trying lenses for the first time. She also plays a key role in dispensing glasses, taking pride in helping patients find frames that not only suit their needs but also boost their confidence.

A true team player with a consistently positive attitude, Kris brings both professionalism and joy to the clinic each day. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family, enjoys exploring new restaurants, and loves to sing her heart out at karaoke. Newly engaged, she is excitedly planning her future with her fiancé and dreams of traveling the world together.

Known for her expertise and warmth, Jamila is a trusted Optical Dispenser who helps people see the world with clarity and confidence. She combines technical precision with a personal touch, making every eyewear experience seamless and enjoyable.

Beyond her work, she cherishes time with her family and looks forward to her annual trips to Africa, where she provides essential eye care to those in need. Loved by colleagues and patients alike, she is not just a dispenser; she’s a vision expert, a confidence booster, and a compassionate professional dedicated to changing lives through the gift of sight.

With 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I have developed a strong foundation in patient care, administrative support, and customer service excellence. As a patient coordinator, I am dedicated to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for patients and staff alike. 

My ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism ensures positive interactions, while my organizational skills help streamline daily operations. I thrive in fast-paced settings, handling scheduling, inquiries, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail. Passionate about delivering outstanding service, I am committed to supporting both patients and healthcare professionals in providing top-quality care. 

I am truly delighted to be a part of the Vision Care Centre team. Joining without prior experience, I was initially uncertain about how my marketing background would fit within a clinic setting. However, thanks to the unwavering support of my incredible colleagues, I have not only found meaningful ways to apply my skills but have also experienced significant personal and professional growth. This team is nothing short of exceptional, and I am grateful to be surrounded by such welcoming and inspiring individuals.

I am a marketing graduate from Ryerson University. I love discovering new experiences, whether it’s exploring the latest brunch spots, binge-watching my favorite shows, or traveling to new destinations. With an enthusiasm for connection and creativity, I look forward to continuing to contribute while learning from this amazing team!

When I stepped into the role of Patient Care Coordinator, I quickly realized how vital clear communication and compassion are in a clinical setting. Given my background in healthcare and the support of an exceptional team, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how to create a calm, welcoming environment that helps every patient feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk in.

What I love most in my role is the opportunity to ease patients’ nerves, answer their questions, and be a consistent, friendly face in a busy environment.

Outside of work, I recharge by spending time outdoors, exploring new hobbies in the visual arts, reading, and enjoying quality moments with close friends and family.

I’ve been working in the field of optometry for the past six years, building a strong foundation in patient care and clinical support. I started my journey at VCC in 2020, where I gained hands-on experience and developed a solid understanding of the field. During my time there, I learned a lot and grew both personally and professionally. In 2024, I moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where I continued to build on my experience and expand my skills. I recently moved back to Ontario and returned to VCC, where I’m excited to be back & to keep growing in the field & with the team!

Over the years, I’ve developed skills in pre-testing, patient communication, contact lens training, and assisting with clinical procedures. I enjoy creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients and ensuring they feel cared for during their visit. I really enjoy working in optometry and appreciate being able to help people take care of their eye health and improve their vision.
