Improve How Your Eyes and Brain Work Together
Vision is about more than seeing clearly. Your eyes and brain work together every day to help you focus, track movement, process information, and interact with the world around you.
When the visual system is not working efficiently, it can affect learning, focus, comfort, coordination, and daily activities. At Vision Care Centre, we provide vision therapy and neuro-visual training for children and adults to help improve visual skills and support better communication between the eyes and brain.
Our vision therapy program supports patients with a range of concerns, including those recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and concussions.
Book your neuro-visual evaluation today to learn if vision therapy is right for you.

Have You Noticed Changes in Yourself or a Loved One?
Vision challenges are not always easy to identify. Sometimes, difficulties with focus, learning, coordination, or daily activities may be related to how the eyes and brain communicate.
You or someone you care about may benefit from a neuro-visual evaluation if you have noticed:
- Frustration during visual tasks
- Difficulty focusing
- Inefficiencies with daily activities
- Emotional fatigue
- Challenges with reading, learning, or other visual tasks
- Ongoing symptoms following a concussion or head injury
Understanding how your visual system is functioning is the first step toward finding the right support.

What Is Vision Therapy?
Vision therapy, also known as neuro-visual training, is a personalized program designed to improve how the eyes and brain work together. Unlike glasses or contact lenses that correct vision clarity, vision therapy focuses on improving visual skills such as:
- Eye tracking
- Focusing ability
- Eye coordination
- Visual processing
- Depth perception
- Visual efficiency
Our program is designed around your specific needs and may support patients experiencing challenges related to learning, focus, eye strain, concussion recovery, and visual processing.
Vision Therapy for Concussion and TBI Recovery
A concussion or traumatic brain injury can affect the way your eyes and brain communicate. Some patients experience ongoing symptoms such as difficulty focusing, headaches, dizziness, visual fatigue, or challenges with processing information.
Vision therapy may help support recovery by addressing visual skills affected by concussion or TBI.
At Vision Care Centre, we work with HCAI (Health Claims for Auto Insurance) to support patients involved in motor vehicle accidents. Our team can submit claims on your behalf and help you access vision therapy as part of your recovery plan.
How Our Vision Therapy Program Works
Our vision therapy process begins with a comprehensive evaluation involving both our optometrist and vision therapist.
Your appointment includes an in-depth assessment of the visual system, including areas such as:
- Eye tracking
- Focusing ability
- Eye coordination
- Visual processing skills
- Other visual functions that impact daily performance
This evaluation helps our team understand your unique visual needs and determine an appropriate treatment plan.
Following your evaluation, weekly vision therapy sessions are completed with our vision therapist, who is a trained professional specializing in supporting patients through their therapy program.
Every 8 weeks, our optometrist reviews your progress and evaluates how your visual system is responding to treatment. This allows us to adjust your program as needed.
Vision Therapy for Reading and Learning Challenges
Reading and learning rely on more than clear eyesight. The eyes must work together with the brain to track words, maintain focus, process visual information, and understand what is being seen.
When visual skills are not working efficiently, children may experience challenges such as:
- Losing their place while reading
- Skipping or rereading words
- Difficulty focusing on schoolwork
- Avoiding reading or close-up activities
- Taking longer to complete assignments
- Experiencing eye strain or fatigue during visual tasks
At Vision Care Centre, our neuro-visual evaluations assess how the visual system is functioning and whether vision therapy may help support reading, learning, and overall visual efficiency.
Vision Therapy for Lazy Eye Treatment
Lazy eye, also known as amblyopia, occurs when one eye does not develop normal vision, even if the eye appears healthy. This can happen when the brain relies more heavily on one eye and does not effectively use information from the weaker eye.
Vision therapy can help train the eyes and brain to work together more effectively by improving visual skills such as:
- Eye coordination
- Focusing ability
- Depth perception
- Visual processing
Early evaluation is especially important for children, as addressing visual development concerns sooner can provide more opportunities to support healthy vision.

Our Testimonials
My family and I have always been impressed with the friendly yet extremely professional service we have enjoyed over the years. The doctors are knowledgeable and personable, the frame selection is excellent (as is the contingent of wonderful staff who are always available with honest opinions and helpful advice!) and the receptionists are fabulous and friendly. The newly renovated space is lovely as well. Well done, everyone!

I have seen Dr. Sebastian and he is the only one to have diagnosed my dry eye syndrome and I have seen others before him and did not catch this. As a result of my dry eyes my prescription was not reading accurately. I am grateful for his patience and extra care he has given me.

My Vision Care experience was absolutely grand. I greatly value all the wonderful people there who looked after me during my visit. Everyone is extremely friendly and highly professional starting right from the time one enters the beautiful place.
The place itself provides a wonderful experience. I value all the professional advice that is given with the greatest care. For me it is a joy to come in on a regular basis and to know I am in good hands. I greatly value the care and guidance given by Dr. Ramesh.

We want to thank you very much for all your hard work that went into Alicia’s Neuro-Visual Therapy. It has opened Alicia’s ability to do so much more both personally and in school, and what means most to us as her parent, we see how confident Alicia is in herself and in her school work. She was always falling down a lot and she always had her head tilted to one side. Now she is focused to get her tasks done on time and the best part, correctly…

When I started the program, I had trouble focusing and sitting and doing my work. Since I started the 36 week program, this has changed. I focused on getting better grades than I did in grade 2 (now in grade 3). I have got A’s in all subjects this year. Now I can sit and do my work, I am able to focus and I am not always looking around the room at other things. I used to need a ruler to read, now I don’t and I can read better and faster than I used to. I am doing great and have learned a lot through this experience.
